Whakarongo! A Choral Concert of Aotearoa Composers
8 September 2024 
Whakarongo! took place at the Alan Gibbs Centre on 8 September 2024, under the direction of Isaac Stone. Whakarongo! celebrated Aotearoa's incredible composers, our unique choral sound, and te reo Māori.
Parallel Gifts: Kindred composers, separated by centuries
Parallel Gifts took place on 25 May 2024. The concert explored the connections between the music of Bach and Mendelssohn, and Purcell and Britten in the beautiful acoustic of Wellington Cathedral of St Paul.

High Score: Legendary soundtracks in concert

High Score took place at Pipitea Marae on 4 November 2023, with spectacular songs and scores from video games, fantasy adventure films, anime and more. Directed by Virginie Pacheco.

Sing, Sing, Sing!

An unabashed full-throttle choral celebration of the Big Band era, under the direction of Isaac Stone Supertonic's first concert for 2023 was presented to a sold-out audience on Saturday 27 May at Queen Margaret College.

Saturday Night's Alright 

Performed at Marsden Auditorium on 26 September 2020, Saturday Night's Alright was a  choral spectacular celebrating the music of Elton John. 

Joy: Vivaldi's Gloria and songs of celebration 

Joy took place on 15 October 2022 at the Alan Gibbs Centre. Starting with the uplifting Gloria in D Major by Antonio Vivaldi, the second half featured a range of world music selected to lift the spirits.

North: An evening of enchanting choral music

Performed at Marsden Auditorium on 18 June 2022, North featured a selection of pieces centred around the theme of self-discovery.

Groundswell: Songs for a sustainable future

Performed at Pipitea Marae on 17 November 2019, this concert commemorated the change people have caused to the Earth, and celebrated the groundswell of momentum from people eager to solve those environmental issues. 

Leaving the Table

Performed at Te Whaea on 22 June 2019, Leaving the Table was a story of relationship, told through song, blurring the lines between choir, theatre and abstract expression.

In The Key of Christmas

Performed at Wesley Methodist Church on December 4 2018. In The Key of Christmas was an evening of choral melodies to inspire merry memories of years gone by.

Space: A Choral Odyssey

Performed at  Hannah Playhouse on 16 September 2018 with ELIM. Even before tohunga kōkōrangi used the night sky to navigate great distances across the ocean to Aotearoa New Zealand, people have been fascinated with the stars. Space: a choral odyssey took audiences on a multimedia musical journey through time and space, exploring the wonder and mystery of what lies beyond Papatūānuku.

Shakespeare's Sister

Performed at Pipitea Marae on May 20th 2018.  Shakespeare's Sister sought to celebrate, honour and showcase the music of underappreciated women composers.

Performed in the New Zealand Portrait Gallery on November 29th 2017.  As well as performing in Wellington as a fundraiser for NZPG, we toured this concert to Hamilton (fundraising for the Meteor) and Feilding (fundraising for The Coach House Museum).

Performed at The Hunter Lounge on September 2nd 2017.  Thunderbolt and Lightning was an epic tribute concert to the unforgettable music of Queen.

Minor Alterations

Performed at Hannah Playhouse on October 8th 2016. Minor Alterations was the choirs first entirely jazz based concert, complete with a three-piece combo and the effervescent vocals of soprano Imogen Thirlwall.
